KirtanSri Mayapur Goshala. Many times we have heard that Cows are sacred in India. That statement is repeated several times in the Vedas, the oldest spiritual knowledge texts in the world. This belief has nothing to do with mythology or superstitions. The cow is considered an adoptive mother because after our own mother stops nursing us, she mercifully provides us with her milk. None of us would deny that our own mother is sacred, why then should the adoptive mother, who also cares for and feeds us, not b
