Queen rides new carriage made from Isaac Newtons apple tree
The Queen and her husband, Prince Philip, travelled to the State Opening of Parliament in a new state carriage that celebrates hundreds of years of the United Kingdom s history. The Diamond Jubilee state coach is made from fragments of priceless historic artifacts, including Henry VIII s warship the Mary Rose, Sir Isaac Newton s apple tree, and Westminster Abbey. This footage shows the carriage leaving Buckingham Palace on the 4th June 2014, bound for the Houses of Parliament where the Queen was due to deliver her annual speech setting out the government s agenda for the coming year.
