The piece from which this extract was taken was recorded in a small wood above the village of Hathersage in Derbyshire, England. Environmental sounds dominate the recording, which was made in September 2010. Nachtstück appears on the CD Droplets, alongside two realisations by the composer Taylan Susam, and an extended trio improvisation by Dominic Lash, Patrick Farmer and Sarah Hughes.
