Making a 5 Piece Packrafting Paddle Trekking Pole from a 2 Piece Paddle

I turned a 2piece carbon fiber kayak paddle into a lightweight 5piece packrafting paddle that converts into a trekking pole. Math: I wanted the paddle blades to be at a 30 degree angle from each other for better performance in headwinds, so I calculated the length of a 30 degree arc on the outside of the paddle shaft using the formula for the circumference of a circle CpiD (where C is the circumference, D is the diameter, and pi is approximately 3. 14). Since there are 360 degrees in a circle, I multiplied the circumference by 30, 360 divided by 12) to get the offset distance. It worked out to about 8 mm.
