Erik Satie 1893 Danses Gothiques
This is a Satie tormented by his relationship with Suzanne Valadon who composed these Danses Gothiques, but who still managed to make an aesthetic synthesis of his mystical period, far from the austerities of Uspud and Le Fils des Étoiles. The subtitle of the work and the titles of the nine parts speak for themselves. This music walks on mystery, as, for a long time ruminated, it is only the antechamber of silence.
