After all, what it takes to take from someone else has little to do with a certain personality type or chosen rather, its a matter of accessing a state of mind that dwells within us all. For Burglarwear, the brands defiant return to the runway after a threeyear hiatus, Mowalola presents a study of what it truly takes to steal money, jewellery, data, power, hearts. Unexpected common ground is unearthed between characters youd otherwise keep firmly apart. Through Mowalolas eyes, whitecollar bankers, pastors, Yahoo boys Lagos ostentatiously dressed internet scammers are all unified by a lack of remorse in their actions; a confident pride, even, in their conviction in taking what they believe is rightfully theirs.
