Lena Horne: In Her Own Words

Born Mary Calhoun Horne (June 30, 1917 May 09, 2010), the singer, dancer and actress was signed to MGM where she starred in numerous musical numbers and both of the only allBlack musicals of the Classic Hollywood era. Known for her poise, beauty and undeniable talent, Horne made a mark in Hollywood, although racism prevented her from being the superstar of the silver screen that she was meant to be.
