Wèrè Ni: He Is a Mad Man (1963), The Management of Psychiatric Disorder by the Yorùbá People
Having been shaken to my core (for whatever reason) by the story of England s King George (after watching what I thought was going to be a lighthearted and mostly inaccurate reenactment of what his life was like Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story ), I doomscrolled to see what I could find on the matter within the Yorùbá context. I found the documentary that I ve included in this video, provided by Dotun Oniyakuya of the Oniwokuwo Archives a subsection of Nigeria In Videos. Although several parts of the narration are Eurocentric and inaccurate, the footages are interesting to watch and observe. Thank you so much for watching and for your support.
