Daylight Dome (1962)
St Helen s, Lancashire. Joan Taylor is seen measuring the brightness of the daylight passing through a glass brick. Christine Moore moves a brick into position for a test. C, U shots of the blocks and the patterns. M, S scale model of a school with classrooms and desks. Assistants prepare for the light test. They are are part of Pilkington s Daylight Advisory Service. They use banks of neon tubes to check light levels in the model. C, U neon tubes, and various pieces of test kit, including galvanometer. Extra light is created with more banks of neon tubes. Light reading are taken at Ruffwood Comprehensive School at Kirkby, Lancashire. Children make their way into the modern school. Exterior shot of the building it has big windows.
