First there was Blanca, then came Martin. Now say hey to Ruth. Hey Elbow consists of Julia Ringdahl, vocals and guitar, Ellen Petersson, horns and electronics, and drummer Liam Amner. With a background in jazz and an ear for distortion they create weird pop music with a big sound. Ruth is a gigantic swelling piece with massive, choir, and howling lead vocals combined with a nearly rocklike rhythm. It combines everything we know from Hey Elbow so far; the grandiose and the intricate; the beauty and the noise. Its the perfect takeoff for the coming album.
