Man Trap Straw Dogs: The Final Cut (C4 Sat 09 Aug 03 is Mark Kermode s attempt to unravel the secrets of Sam Peckinpah s most controversial film (see below). Kermode think Mark Lamarr s grandad on steroids talks to all the usual suspects. The film was effectively banned in 1971, even after it was recut. The graphic rape of Susan George which here she defends convincingly caused bother at the BBFC, especially as she seems to enjoy it.
