The Loyola Opera Theatre transports audiences to an enchanted fairytale world next month with its production of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozarts mythical opera, The Magic The Magic Flute, written in a popular style with spoken dialogue, premiered to great acclaim in Vienna, Austria in September 1791. When an evil wizard kidnaps the Queen of the Nights daughter, the heroic Prince Tamino, armed with a magical flute, sets out to rescue her. Accompanied by his birdcatcher companion Papageno, Taminos journey is riddled with countless obstacles, but ultimately love and light triumph over evil and darkness.
