The Types of Lava at Volcanoes
All lavas are not created alike. They can cool as a black color, but also as white or red. Some contains abundant gemstones such as olivine (also known as peridot), others contain abundant feldspar crystals, while some are finely grained. To help differentiate between the many types of lavas, I have created this video.
