America Cheers War Heroes (1942)

Great shots of a tickertape parade moving along Broadway as war heroes (including 10 British men) start a tour of the United States. Huge crowds cheer as the men go past in open cars, escorted by policemen on motorcycles. Outside New York s City Hall we see Ensign Donald Mason of the US Navy making a short speech at a microphone. He says Normally I talk too much, today I am speechless, then steps down. Mayor La Guardia of New York moves across to the microphone and says Couldn t we use that boy in our City Council At a packed Madison Square Gardens we see the line of war heroes on stage, saluting the American and British flags.
