A 2009 comment by former U. S. Vice President Al Gore that the North Pole would be icefree by summer 2013 has gone viral in tandem with COP26 climate talks in Glasgow. According to a factcheck by Reuters, Gore was merely quoting a scientist rather than making the claim himself, although he misstated the scientist s data.
