The Frist Ever AI Only Campaign for Total War Rome: Remastered Is it Smarter Part 2. For AI Only Campaigns I mod it to play as the Rebels and then just spectate the campaign as it happens. We see Empires rise and fall. Overall, I would say YES, the campaign ai is smarter. They are more aggressive, often choosing attack as the best form of defence. They stack up more, meaning they take settlements easier. They are also much better at general Campaign path finding. Things still need to be fixed, but for a Version 1. 0, with support promised to come, I am very satisfied I am MELKOR, a Comedy Channel that focuses on Rome and Medieval 2 Total War.
