HYDROFOIL RADM Gary Blore USCG (ret) Opinion on Hydrofoils in the Coast Guard Navy
Rear admiral Gary Blore, US coast guard, retired in 2011 after serving many years with the guard in many billets. For example, in 2004 rear admiral Blore served as Special Assistant to the President. He was the Homeland Security Council Senior Director for Border and Transportation Security. But of particular significance to this video, he was in 2007 the Chief Acquisition Officer of the Coast Guard. In that capacity he regularly was required to evaluate the role that hydrofoils might play in the Coast Guard. As an aviator flying both helicopters and the Guardian fanjet, he well understands what makes things fly and what the advantages are of going fast through air or water. Admiral Blore is highly decorated having received the following metals: five Legion of Merit, two Meritorious Service, two Coast Guard Commendation and the Transportation 911 as well as other service and campaign awards.
