Winter homestead build: off grid log cabin walls, felling final logs, DIY spark arrestor, EP5
This week I need to fell, limb, and gather the last 12 logs for my first 12 x 16 cabin build. As well as somehow get them all to my build site. These will be the biggest logs I am using, building layers 3 through 5 of my walls. My steel roof arrived this week via delivery truck It is tarped and ready down my ATV trail. I need to keep building up the walls, attempt to make a DIY spark arrestor for my wood stove as my hot tent is getting damaged from the embers, and move my tool shed to a new location that is sheltered from the snow. I quit my job and left the big city of Toronto to move onto 40acres of Canadian wilderness with a magical river. I am building an offgrid homestead with multiple cabins and structures from the timber on the land. I may have made a huge mistake as doing this at the start of Winter may make general construction difficult if not impossible. Follow me on Instagram: wildhomesteadca
