Spud Melin and Rich Knerr made FUN Rich, was our founder, Chuck Knerr s father. Chuck and his sisters are seen in many of these old commercials. Spud and Rich were pioneers in creating TV commercials for toys. They shot their commercials in the Melin s yard, the Knerr s yard, or in local parks. The children are theirs, their employees or kids from the neighborhood. Spud N Rich was founded because kids deserve options for physical play that are more fun than staring at a screen and so wellmade, still fun for another generation.
