Russian Orphanage Report

Bruce and Elaine Stacey visited Russia in 1990 as part of a group of artists and musicians doing concerts to benefit Russian orphans. While there, Bruce s musical The Scroll was performed for three nights by a Russian orchestra and choir at the Oktybrysky Grand Concert Hall. During Elaine s visits to orphanages in the city this report was filmed for Canadian television. The Stacey s later adopted two children from the same orphanage and continued to help children in the city, sending over 1, 000 winter boots and medical supplies to the hardhit orphanages. Bruce also assisted several other Canadian families adopt children from Orphanage, 4 in Saint Petersburg.
