I posted this clip from this controversial film in an attempt to learn the name and composer of the music, which consists of two separate pieces. I first heard the second piece on television almost seven decades ago in the soundtracks of some B western films from the 1930 s or 1940 s. Most of these films were made on low budgets; so, the producers couldn t afford original music. Therefore, they borrowed from recordings of publicdomain classical compositions. One minute and 40 seconds into this clip begins some music that was used in some of those lowbudget horse operas. It would always accompany an action scenea fight, or toward the end of the film when the posse was rounded up and chased (and always catching) the bad guys. Much to my surprise, this music was used in the film The Night Porter, which was telecast on the Turner Classic Movies (TCM) channel a while ago.
