Queen Elizabeth II conferred an honourary knighthood on former President Ronald Reagan on 14th June 1989, the highest honour Britain can give a foreigner. She made him an Honourary Knight Grand Cross of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, an order established in 1725 that recognizes services to Britain.
