In this easy Christmas piping tutorial I will teach you how to pipe a buttercream holly garland and Christmas wreaths two ways For this tutorial I am decorating sugar cookies, but these wreaths and holly also make lovely decorations on a Christmas cake or cupcake For this tutorial I am using a medium green buttercream, a darker green buttercream and a red buttercream. Colouring instructions can be found with the buttercream recipe below. For the wreaths you will need a, 18 (or similar) closed star tip, for the garland a, 101 petal tip (102104 would also work)and for the berries a, 5 (or any) medium round tip. Fit your piping bags with couplers (if available)to make it easier to switch tips. For the first buttercream wreath begin with either shade of green and, 18 tip. Hold your tip parallel to your cookie, cupcake or piping nail. Apply a small amount of pressure, creating a star shape.
