Quorum: Anastasia Smirnova

Anastasia Smirnova, who was arrested in Russia for posting an LGBT banner at the Sochi Olympics, talks with RussianAmerican journalist Masha Gessen on having to flee her country, but continuing to fight against Putin s antiLGBT campaign with the International LGBT Association (ILGA). Quorum: Global LGBT Voices is a new project of The Daily Beast, in collaboration with nine leading international human rights organizations. Its mission is to lift up the voices of nonWestern LGBT activists sharing compelling stories about their struggles and successes.
