Bryan Adams The Best Was Yet to Come
This song was featured on the album Cuts Like A Knife but was actually written for a film Star 80 on the life of Dorothy Stratten, a Vancouver girl who went to Los Angeles to become a Playboy bunny and was murdered. Adams was touched by the story of a small town girl who went to try and better her life, only to be horrifically gunned down by a jealous boyfriend. Adams is singing live (2020) to the original TV track mixed in 1983. Lyric: Just a small town girl in the city lights the best was yet to come Then lonely days turned to endless nights the best was yet to come How were you to know that you would be the lucky one Ain t it funny how time flies when the best was yet to come You can cry yourself to sleep at night you can t change the You had it there then it slipped away ya you left the song unsung Even through your tears I never saw you come undone What s so good about goodbye when the best was yet to
