California Towns DESTROYED by Wildfires Six significant wildfires have torn through California, destroying homes across the state. The Dixie Fire is the largest and has been burning thousands of acres each hour. On Wednesday, it raced through Greenville destroying about 75 per cent of the town. An area larger than Los Angeles has been consumed by the blaze.
