Directions for the course: In this stepbystep wood carving course we will focus on giving movement to the body, and learn how to carve a female body sculpture easily, working with a template and in any wood. In this video I use ficus wood that is not a good quality wood but it is perfect for training. With this size and with a poor quality wood we won t be able to do details but that will allow us to focus on the main shape and movement of the body. Ideally, to transfer the drawing to wood, I recommend using carbon paper. The finish is with linseed oil. In my case it is a mistake since with this wood it gave it a very dark appearance and made the grain stand out too much.
