Europe is not a US puppet EU officials rebuke von der Leyen for meddling in Middle East affairs

The Israeli military intends to escalate its strikes on the Gaza Strip to further pressure the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas. Simultaneously, there have been numerous calls from around the world for a ceasefire in the IsraeliPalestinian conflict and the opening of humanitarian corridors to allow aid supplies into the Gaza Strip. Notably, the Chairman of the European Commission, Von der Leyen, has faced criticism from within her own ranks for her stance on the IsraeliPalestinian issue. Over 800 EU officials from various parts of the world have penned a letter, condemning her unconditional support for Israel and asserting that the EU, as a fair, just, and humanitarian mediator, is losing all credibility.
