ParisRoubaix is the toughest oneday race on the pro cycling calendar and a feast of road cycling tech, with the worlds best riders pitting their bikes and bodies against the brutal cobbles of northern France. With last years ParisRoubaix cancelled and this years pushed back six months, weve had twoandahalf years of bike development since the pros last took to the races notorious pavé. And that was reflected in the choice of bikes and equipment for the 2021 Hell of the North, in both the mens race and the firstever edition of the ParisRoubaix Femmes. That, coupled with bad weather and cobbles caked in mud through the weekend the first properly wet ParisRoubaix since 2002 meant that there was a marked shift in equipment on display at this years race. Perhaps ParisRoubaix should be moved permanently to October This years race has been more of a spectacle than weve seen for years and an opportunity for us to see where the future of road bikes is heading.
