My Alcoholic and Abusive Dad Song Childhood Trauma Keynote Speaker Derek Clark

I wrote this riveting song about my alcoholic dad who brutalized and abandoned me. He was in and out of prison and didn t care about me. So many kids pay the price of their parents actions. My dad was so mad and beat up my mom because she wouldn t abort I paid the price for years. My mom couldn t handle me and her new husband (my stepdad) brutalized me so I went into foster care for 13 years. I have tried very hard to not be like my dad and be the better than them. Maybe you can relate to this try to help people rise back up despite the brutal childhood adversity they have faced. The 3rd verse is all about hope and breaking the generational curses handed down onto us.
