Cadence And Cascade Featuring Boz Burrell
Stormy Monday Selection (Occasional Series Acts of Random Archive Rummaging) Theres been a long history of different studio vocal renditions of Cadence And Cascade. First was Greg Lakes guide vocal during the early part of the Poseidon sessions which was itself replaced by Gordon Haskells rendition a few weeks later. Then, in the 90s Adrian Belew rerecorded the song for the Frame By Frame boxset, and during 2019, Jakko Jakszyk joined Lake, Haskell, and Belew in a studio remix featuring all four vocalists. Now Alex Stormy Mundy has taken Boz Burrells live performance vocal from the 1972 Summit Studios concert in Denver and skilfully edited it to the original Poseidon sessions track. Although the song was in the same key, the tempo was not and it took Alex quite a lot of time to bring the two things together. The result is a marvellous meeting of different times and places and Bozs laconic delivery is perfectly suited to Sinfields lyric about groupies.
