God shows Daniel a vision of a ram with two horns, one horn higher than the other. the ram became great and powerful, hard to beat. Then came a goat with a great horn on his head and ran into the ram with all of his fury and power. The goat threw down the ram and stomped on the ram. The goat became very great and was strong then his great horn was broken and four other horns came up. One of the horns (the little horn) became very great. The little horn cast down some of the stars to the ground and stomped on them. Daily sacrifices started in the temple and lasted for 2300 days (6, 3 years).
