Signed to Thump Records in 1993, her first album Nayba Hood Queen was released the same year and it made her name pretty popular all over California, New Mexico, Arizona and other surrounding states. She stayed with Thump Records for one more album, It Gets No Reala. Thump wasn t feeling her album It Gets No Reala and they didn t promote it and barely moved it. JV decided it was time to move on because she outgrew them. After leaving Thump, she changed her name to JBug. Basically, it was a way to shake ties with Thump.
