The Stately Ghosts of England Part 1 ( Longleat House)
Vintage documentary by NBC television with actress Margaret Rutherford (Blithe Spirit, Miss Marple), her husband (actor Stringer Davis) and Tom Corbett (author, clairvoyant and ghosthunter), on a search for paranormal activity at Longleat House, Salisbury Hall and Beaulieu Abbey. Recorded in England during the summer of 1964, the NBC team had their share of technical faults while filming the show, including: unexplained power cuts, spoiled takes during early filming, cameras refusing to work at crucial moments and arc lamps lighting up for no reason (one of which fell down a staircase with no one nearby). After 3 weeks of filming, the team were successful in capturing, by timelapse camera, an unexplained light anomaly in an upper corridor at Longleat House. It was later discovered that a grandfather clock on the same corridor had coincidentally stopped working when the light anomaly had appeared.
