The USS Arizona memorial, Pearl Harbor in Hawaii

On December 7, 1941, Pearl Harbour was attacked by the Imperial Japanese Navy airplanes and submarines, causing the American entry into World War II. USS Arizona is one of the ships that was sank by the Japanese attack. Four bombs hit the vessel, last one exploded and sank the ship killing 1, 177 officers and crewmen.
