The Molly Maguires ( Suite)

Martin Ritt s powerful film based on actual events in 1870 s Pennsylvania has two terrific central performances from Sean Connery and Richard Harris. The film details the exploits of a secret society of Irish American coal miners who fight their exploitation by the ruthless mine owners by intimidation, violence and murder. Henry Mancini produces one of his best scores, which is represented here by a short suite.
