It is home to the Fernand Léger national museum. The jar industry developed during the 16th and 17th centuries to transform Biot into an important center of pottery production. Fernand Léger and other renowned artists settled in Biot and contributed to its reputation. In 1956, Eloi Monod created the Biot glass factory and its bubble glass.
