The void An XT Synth Performance
The XT Synth was designed to fulfill a desire of having an instrument that could be performed using familiar techniques of string instruments, with the flexibility and power of a DMI. The XT Synth was a finalist at the Guthman New Musical Instrument Competition 2018; it was featured in several specialized websites, like Gearnews; it was featured in many Maker Faires, like the Bay Area and World Maker Faire in NYC; it had a poster and demo on NIME 2018, and it was shared more the times on social media, with about one million views in one of its videos. The void is a performance that explores the capabilities of the XT Synth, as new DMI, to perform traditional techniques of acoustic instruments like the guitar and the violin on electronic sounds, with the added flexibility of a controller.
