Stunning Abandoned Southern Farm House Left Forgotten For Decades
This historic old house was built in the early 1900s. Listed as being built between 19081911. The original family who built the house were most likely formerly enslaved as well because the census records list the first owner and most likely builder as being around 50 years old and of African American descent. It gets more interesting as later census records list the family as being white but still same last name. Which lead me to believe the family was most likely of mixed race. Which was pretty uncommon for the early 1900s in the Jim Crow laws of the south. Also interesting is the house remained in the same family for its whole life until the final owner, an elderly widow with no children passed away. Sadly with no one too leave the house to, it has sat empty for decades now in a rural area of Georgia.
