Son of my father is a song written by German producer Giorgio Moroder with lyrics in German originally published as Nachts scheint die Sonne (In the Night Shines the Sun) The German lyrics are by Michael Holm and the English lyrics were written by Pete Bellotte. English pop group Chicory Tip, formed in 1967 in Maidstone, Kent recorded the English version in which it became a huge hit n the UK: a, one hit in the UK Singles Chart for three weeks in February 1972.
