Curtiss Wright R 3350 32 WA, 18 Cylinder Radial Engine ( Sternmotor), second start

Here you see the second start in 32 years. Most of oil (and white smoke) is blown out now, fire brigade returns back to the station. Problem is, that we dont ask power with the result, that there isnt any manifold pressure. So engine could unload with the result of backfiring. . Also we have to take care, that temperature of cylinder heads doesnt rise up too hot to prevent ignition without sparking.
