Metro do Porto Portos modern tram system
The Metro do Porto is essentially Porto s rapid transit network. It includes 6 lines: A, B, C, D, E, and F. The D line runs by itself in a northsouth direction while the other five lines run in an eastwest direction. The A, B, C, E, and F lines share common trackage between the Senhora da Hora and Campanha Stations and offer a transfer to the D line at Trindade Station. The system comprises of 72 Bombardierbuilt Eurotram cars and 30 Bombardierbuilt Flexity Swift multisection light rail (tram) cars. The 30 Flexity cars are used on the B and C lines due to their heavy ridership and route length. The B line is so crowded and so long that it is exclusively Flexity cars and offers allday express service, sometimes called the Bx.
