Ulan Ude, capital of Buryatia is great, and its where youll almost certainly kick off your nomadic adventure in the region. However, its only once you exit the city that youll see the real Buryatia. Buryatias highlights are of course its Buddhist culture, and theres nowhere better to familiarize yourself than at the famous Datsan near Ivolginsk. Plus the foods pretty good too
