The NASA, ESA Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) captured imagery of a Kreutz sungrazer comet burn up on approach to the Sun (Aug 24, 2016 UTC). The comet was traveling at 373 miles per second (600 km, s) and did not survive the encounter.
