The Monument was built in 1670th to commemorate the Great Fire of London and celebrate a new City of London. The fire began in baker s house on 2 September 1666, destroing a huge part of London. The column contains 311steps staircase that lead to the viewing platform on the height of 48, 7 metres. The whole height of the column is 61 metre it s exact distance from the place in Padding Lane where the Great fire began.
