The Atlantic Fleet Will Proceed To Sea (1926)
Portland, Dorset. Title: The ATLANTIC FLEET WILL PROCEED TO SEA and in the grey dawn, an imposing array of Britain s Might, leaves for Manoeuvres. Shots are mostly the same or similar to those in another Pathe Gazette story from this year. Please refer to record for THE ATLANTIC FLEET WILL ASSEMBLE FOR THE SPRING MANOEUVRE in G 1259. Some shots of battleships with a picture of gilt frame superimposed on top of the picture. More shots of battleships heading out to sea (as opposed to by the coast as is the case in the other version), some of the battleships have large clouds of smoke coming off them (properly steam from funnels but looks a bit like battle damage). Some or all of the shots appear to be cuts or out takes and are not edited in chronological order. Several seconds of spacing appears between some shots: 01:44:14 01:44:28, 01:47:05 01:47:15, 01:48:15 01:48:17 and 01:48:28 01:48:31. FILM A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
