Schnittke: Works for Violin and Piano Listen here: The violinist Daniel Hope pays tribute to the Russian composer Alfred Schnittke with his new album Schnittke: Works for Violin and Piano which includes the Tango from the film Agony. The Guardian calls Alfred Schnittke one of the twentieth centurys most original and fascinating composers, and Daniel Hope himself has long been fascinated by Schnittkes music ever since he met Schnittke when he was only 15 years old and an aspiring young musician. In this video Daniel Hope plays the famous Tango in an arrangement for accordion, by and with the accordionist Aydar Gaynullin. The video was recorded in 2020 at Daniel Hope s own home in Berlin as part of the TV Series HopeHome, transforming his living room into a hightech musical TV studio bringing music to peoples homes during the pandemic.
