Manhunter is the origin story behind Dave Barrett s career as a private investigator during the 1930s. That career was a one season hourlong crime series that premiered about six months after this movie aired. Both movie and series were produced by Quinn Martin of The FBI fame. Ken Howard plays Barrett and Stephanie Powers plays Bonnielike to Gary Lockwood s, James Olson s (her brother and husband, respectively) Clydelike in this fictitious Barrow Gang takeoff.
