Afterwards, the Conductor asked everyone to stay for a demonstration of a unique instrument called the Chapman Stick by its Inventor Emmett Chapman. It was my first experience of this remarkable instrument and Chapman. Years later, I was househunting, and one of the places I saw was a basement dwelling which turned out to be where Chapman lived and invented the Stick.
