The digital era is no longer a futuristic set of a scifi movie. It has become our present reality where all digital platforms, computers, mobile phones, and tablets are now prosthetic elements of our daily lives, which work as extensions of our bodies and minds. We invest so much of our time into these objects that we have started to detach from our physical bodies making us now mindbased digital beings androids in the becoming. A new parallel reality has been developed because of internet and social media. Hence it has opened up a space where there are no longer geographical limits, where we relate and communicate to each other through avatars and alteregos made up of images, text and code. ÍNSULA initially started through one of these social platforms because of a personal reach out that opened up a long distance creative meeting point for two artists.
